The latest addition to the fleet, 50007 Hercules, was purchased from Neil Boden in late 2016. The loco is mainline registered, and is already fitted with TPWS, OTMR, GSM-R and all that other good stuff that you need to go out and play on the 'big' railway. The loco was selected after a detailed inspection, and will have the generators overhauled prior to entering traffic on a mainline contract.

The arrival of Hercules brings our total of mainline registered locomotives to three (50007, 50044 and 50049), and puts us in a strong position regarding availability for mainline operations.

The chances are high that our mainline loco's will take part in a number of railtours marking the 50th anniversary of the class in 2017 & 2018. More details of such events will be made available when we have them.

A number of people have asked us if we have any plans to paint the loco GWR Green again. Currently, the answer is no. The loco has been painted very recently and the paint is still good for many years yet.
Besides, wouldn't it be nice to see it in Large Logo for a while first?
